Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Bangwe Mthandizi Ward Isaac Jomo Osman, popularly known as Ntopwa 1 has spoken against ongoing endorsement of former President Peter Mutharika as the party’s torchbearer in 2025 polls.
Osman’s sentiments come barely days after the committee in Mzuzu led by regional governor Ackim Mwanza endorsed Mutharika.
Speaking on Monday morning via his social media platform, the self-styled philanthropist and sports enthusiast, called on the youth to resist any attempt to kill democratic freedoms in the party by some greedy politicians who are bent to impose leaders of their choice instead of allowing democratic procedures to dictate the future of the party.
Jomo concluded by sounding a warning bell to all leaders who may try to block others from participating in a free and fair convention in 2023.
Jomo Osman is a Blantyre based businessman who is also a DPP ward councilor in Bangwe, the owner of Ntopwa FC and looks after a number of disadvantaged people including the elderly in his ward.
