The body of Hip hop artist Martin Nkhata, also known as Martse has arrived at Civo Stadium where the funeral ceremony will take place.

Initially, the ceremony was planned to take place at Nkhata residence in Likuni but the great multitude that wants to pay their last respect to the fallen legend, changed all plans.

Mary Chilima, wife to the country’s vice president Saulos Chilima,  Minister of Tourism Michael Usi, Minister of Sports, Youth and Arts  Richard Chimwendo Banda and Leader of opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa are also in attendance.

His colleagues in the entertainment cycle are also present to pay their goodbyes to Martse.

Adding to that, people from all walks of life who loved and appreciated art and talent Martse had have their way to Civo Stadium to pay their last respect.

Later in the day, Martse will be escorted to his final destination at Area 18 cemetery in Lilongwe.

 

The Mkatimo hit maker died on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) where he was being treated for burn wounds.

The 28 year old singer met his fate on Friday last week after a house he slept in caught fire, however, the real cause of the fire is not known, but the police are investigating the matter.

In a related story, the Minister of National Youth and Unity has asked Malawians to stay away from spreading rumors surrounding the death of Martse.
