The opposition DPP has called on President Lazarus Chakwera to fire all individuals involved in corruption activities with business person Zunneth Sattar.
The call comes barely a week after reports emerged that State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and some top officials are implicated in the case.
Speaking in an interview with press, DPP Spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba called on the people mentioned in the Sattar corruption list to resign immediately pending due processes of the court.
Namalomba has also accused the Chakwera government of practicing selective justice.
He also claimed that Chakwera has lost direction and has failed to deal with corruption as witnessed by the low funding towards ACB and continued entertaining corrupt individuals in government.
Namalomba said that the devaluation of the kwacha is a sign of a clueless leadership.
On prices of fertilizer, Namalomba says there is no way Malawians would afford three meals a day with such exorbitant prices.
On fuel prices, Namalomba said the Tonse alliance was accusing DPP for increasing fuel prices which was even selling cheaper that time.
He says, now the Tonse alliance is failing to explain the expensive fuel. He has feared that fuel would get to over k2000 with the devaluation of the kwacha.
The press briefing is chaired by former Minister of Finance Goodall Gondwe and other members including former Reserve Bank of Malawi governor Dalitso Kabambe, former Minister of Finance Joseph Mwanamvekha, Bright Msaka, Shadric Namalomba, Chimwemwe Chipungu, among others.
