Chief Justice disbars two lawyers

Information reaching this publication indicates that Chief Justice Rezine Mzikamanda has disbarred two lawyers Nicely Msowoya and Richie Katsichi for two years.
The two are accused of embezzling money for their clients.
However the two year suspension will take into consideration the one year suspension that the Malawi Malawi Law Society disciplinary commitee imposed on the two.
This follows an application by the Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda for the court to suspend the two.
Msowoya embezzled money amounting to less than five million Kwacha for his client while Katsichi embezzled less than 1.4 Kwacha for his client.
However the two paid the money to their clients after the disciplinary hearing by Malawi Law Society.
