A 16-year-old boy from Southlea Park, Harare was reportedly killed and his body was found stashed in a box on Monday morning in a suspected ritual murder.

Allegations are that Leeroy Urayayi (20) killed Emmanuel Nhunzwi under unknown circumstances on Sunday.

He is reportedly on the run.

The deceased’s stepmother Blessing Phiri revealed that they started looking for him when they came back from church on Sunday but they could not locate him.

“My neighbour then heard that there was a dead body, which had been found at the next house, we went to the scene and found out that his body was stashed in a container and the body parts were chopped so that they could fit inside the container.

“We managed to identify him since he was wearing the same clothes which he was wearing before he disappeared.”

Phiri said the corpse was put close to an isolated cottage.

The suspected murderer’s aunt, Dadirai Machingauta said there was a lot of water on the floor and when she enquired from Leeroy he said he had spilt water on the floor and he was in the process of wiping it away.

“He left me to clean the floor and, to my surprise, I spotted some blood stains on the floor. I suspected that he was bleeding from the nose and I proceeded to clean the blood but I realised that the blood was too much.

After she inquired about the blood, Leeroy said he had killed a rabbit but he threw it away.

She then approached her neighbours over the issue and they said:

“Leeroy anga achiti ane chimukuyu chiri mumba umo and chiri kutoda mota.”

“The neighbours quizzed him over the issue until he confessed that he had killed someone.

It is alleged that after he revealed what had happened, he then showed the neighbours the body but he quietly disappeared from the scene
