Marijuana also known as Canabis is considered illegal in many countries including Kenya. Despite being illegal, studies have found that CBD and other non-psychoactive cannabinoids can effectively be used to prevent and treat GI disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis and more. CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties are key to reducing and preventing symptoms.

The debate of legalizing marijuana has been going on where some countries have so far legalized it. In Kenya during this election period, Roots Party presidential candidate Professor George Wajackoyah has assured Kenyans that he will legalize marijuana to create source of income. According to Wajackoya, marijuana will help Kenya get money to be able to repay it’s debt that is almost Kshs 10 trillion shillings.

Below are some of the African countries that have so far legalized marijuana.

1.Lesotho.

Lesotho became the first African country to legalize marijuana by offering legal license to people to grow it.

2.Morocco.

Morocco was the second country in Africa to legalize marijuana after Lesotho.

3.Malawi.

Has become the latest African country to legalize recreational use of weed for commercial use and export.

Others African countries that have legalized marijuana include, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda among others.

Countries outside Africa continent include, Mexico, Canada, China, Georgia, Malta, Uruguay, United States, Colombia, Israel, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, Germany among others.
