A 37 year old man identified as Caesar Muluta has been found dead in in a boy’s quarter of his main house in Mzuzu.
The deceased is suspected to have suffocated from a fire he had started to warm himself after returning from a drinking joint.
Mzuzu Police Public Relations Officer Paul Tembo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Tembo, the deceased had a tendency of sleeping in the boy’s quarter whenever he went on a drinking binge.
The body of the deceased was discovered by his wife this morning, with the room full of smoke.
The body has since been taken to Mzuzu Central Hospital for postmortem.
