The University of Malawi Council has appointed Sunduzwayo Madise as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The Council has described the former Dean of the Faculty of Law as an accomplished academician.

Madise is a legal practitioner already admitted to the Malawi bar to practice law in the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal, the High Court and all subordinate courts.

A statement released by the council further says Madise has an International experience as a visiting lecturer at the University of Pretoria as well as the University of Western Cape (both in the Republic of South Africa), as well as having been an external examiner at the University of Western Cape and the University of Cape Town.

Previously, he has held various top positions of national service having once served as President of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Chairperson of Malawi Council of Sports (A post he is still serving) as well as Commissioner at the Malawi Human Rights Commission.
