Reports reaching this publication indicate that Ntchisi district and Lumbadzi in Dowa have run out of fuel for the past two days.

According to sport checks by Zodiak, two pumping stations in Ntchisi and one in Lumbadzi, Dowa are down, forcing the motorists not to operate.

One of the motorists, James Banda from T/A Malenga in Ntchisi, the situation has forced them purchase the commodity from black markets at a price of K2,500 and K3,000 per litre.

Commenting on the matter, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the National Oil Company (NOCMA) Hellen Buluma has said, the country has enough fuel in stock and has attributed to this due to logistical challenges on the part of the specific oil marketing companies.
