One of the well-known social commentators in the country Joshua Chisa Mbele has taken to social media to celebrate the firing of the Inspector General of Police Dr. George Kainja.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera fired Kainja on Tuesday night on grounds that he is implication in corruption scandal involving well-known businessman Zuneth Sattar.

Writing on his official facebook page Chisa Mbele accused Kainja of plotting to have Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma fired from her post.

“Last night IG was summarily fired. He is implicated in high grade corruption and being investigated by ACB headed by Martha.

“I’m so overwhelmingly ecstatic. I’m over the moon. The devil is out of the way,” wrote Chisa Mbele.

He added: “I pray for many more who made Chakwera look like a crook to fall on their swords . We are not going to rest till the last corrupt person falls. One day Malawi shall be free of corrupt syndicates.

“Now that we have tasted the power of the woman, I ask the President to Appoint a Female IG.”

Below is Chisa Mbele’s statement;

The Power of Time

Not long ago, Martha was summoned to Area 30 Police Headquarters. She would be officially put under criminal investigation. That would lead her being considered unfit to lead ACB. Then removed.

IG was in the thickness of the plot. Nothing of that magnitude could be undertaken without IG permission.

Had we not threatened Mass Action, Martha would be history by now.

As I’m talking I’m on bail. My crime is none other than denouncing corruption. I’m currently in Court fighting for my freedom. The police wants me behind bars. My crimine; loudly bemoaning corruption and impunity in our society.
