Malawi’s former Head of State Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has indirectly mocked his successor President Lazarus Chakwera through a bible verse.

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader via his verified Facebook page asked Malawians to reflect on Isaiah 3:1 which talks about bad things happening to the wicked.

“Today, I want us to reflect on Isaiah 3:11 which reads, ‘Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, for what he deserves will be done to him.’ May God bless you all,” said Mutharika without giving further explanation.

Mutharika post comes at a time Malawians are accusing the current Tonse administration of failing to control the economy and is facing serious allegations on corruption.

After he was ousted from power two years ago, Mutharika has been accusing Chakwera of conniving with the judiciary and robbed his presidency.
