Man handed 8 years jail sentence for possessing 78 plastic bags of Chamba

The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Limbe has sentenced a 19-year old man, Mussa John, who was found with 78 plastic bags of Chamba, to eight years imprisonment.
According to Limbe Police Spokesperson, Inspector Patrick Mussa, the convict pleaded guilty to the charge of illegal possession of illicit drug and pleaded for leniency “on the ground that he is a young man aged 19 with parents and siblings to take care of.”
Inspector Mussa says state “asked the court to grant John a custodial sentence, saying despite being the first offender, the quantity of the hemp was huge.”
