Member of Parliament for Thyolo South Sandram Scott has denied being part of 22 MPs from opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) who have obtained an injunction against the appointment of Dr. George Chaponda as leader of opposition.
On Tuesday, 22 MPs belonging to the camp of DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa obtained an injunction against the firing of Nankhumwa as leader of opposition by the party following a meeting held on Sunday at Peter Mutharika’s house in Mangochi.
The list included DPP MP for Thyolo South Sandram Scott.
But Scott has denied being part of the said MPs who are protesting the appointment of Chaponda.
“Good afternoon Hon members, I write to inform you that I distance myself from the court injunction and also what is happening politically now.
“I wish you all a successful endeavours and I may now seek leave from the group. God bless,” wrote Scott.
Meanwhile, DPP has working on vacating the injunction.
