In a twist turn of events Malawi Parliament has recognized the embattled Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa as leader of opposition.

This comes barely after hours 22 members obtained an injunction restrict George Chaponda as the leader of opposition as appointed by DPP president Peter Mutharika.

This has been confirmed in a letter signed by Clerk of Parliament Fiona Kalemba seen by this publication.

“I have an honor to invite you to the above captioned meeting which will be held at Parliament Building in the Speaker’s Board Room on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, starting from 10; 00 am” reads in part the statement.
