Mulhako wa Alhomwe Group chief executive, Pious Mvenya has said the annual cultural festival will be held on 9 October, 2022 at Chonde in Mulanje district.

Mvenya made the remarks on Thursday during media briefing in Blantyre.

He added that they will require K180 million for the celebrations to be organized properly, the amount which is higher than the money used in last year’s event which was K150 million.

“As usual the Lhomwe’s make contributions and to add on that we have organized gospel shows starting from 7 August 2022 to be featured by international artist who will to be revealed later,” he said.

Mulhako wa Alhomwe was formed in 2007 by late President Bingu wa Muthalika to preserve and promote culture among the lhomwe people.

The group is headed by Board of Trustees and coordinated by a secretariat.
