MACRA asks Rainbow Television to apply for new licence

The Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has asked Rainbow Television to apply for new licence despite paying for its license outstanding fees.

MACRA revoked licence for Rainbow Television last month over non-payment of licence fees amounting to over Mk10 million.

Rainbow Television repaid arrears and days ago the company asked MACRA to re-open the Television.

But in what can be described as a twist of events, MACRA has asked the company to apply for new licence.
