Leader of Opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South has joined former President Peter Mutharika in celebrating his 82nd birthday today.
Mutharika announced of his birthday yesterday during a media briefing held at his retirement home in Mangochi.
Standing on point of order, Nankhumwa asked lawmakers in the August House to join him in wishing the former leader well.
Nankhumwa described Mutharika as a great son of the soil.
Currently Mutharika and Nankhumwa are involved in cut and rat chase over the post of leader of opposition in Parliament.
The matter is currently in court.
