Nurse arrested for playing with private parts of pregnant woman in Ntchisi

A 30-year old nurse working at Nthondo Health Centre in Ntchisi District is in police custody for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year old pregnant girl.
Ntchisi Police Spokesperson Yohane Tasowana confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.
According to Tasowana, the nurse identified as Christopher Zagwazatha, was arrested on Friday following a complaint from the victim.
Tasowana said the incident occurred earlier last week after the victim had gone for antenatal care clinic at the facility.
It is said that the suspect deliberately inserted his finger into the private parts of the victim who later reported it to her relatives.
Meanwhile, spokesperson for Ntchisi District Hospital Samson Mfuyeni has also confirmed about the arrest of Zagwazatha adding that investigation is underway to take an appropriate action thereafter.
