Suspected thugs have allegedly attacked a police sergeant and went away with his K2C riffle, eight rounds of ammunition, his camouflage attire and a reflector jacket.
Deputy National Police publicist, Harry Namwaza has confirmed the incident happened last evening, around Mapanga industrial area in Limbe township of Blantyre, but says, they have deployed intelligence officers to recover the weapon.
The officer was also robbed off his K5,400 cash and an itel mobile phone according to a police.
Namwaza has however assured residents of Blantyre of their safety
