Well-known musician Kalawe has come under fire for claiming that some Roman Catholic Church members received holy Eucharist from “tainted hands” of priest Thomas Muhosha who was serving a 30 years jail sentence after being found guilty in the killing of albino man, MacDonald Masambuka.

Writing on his official facebook page, Kalawe wondered as to why the case involving late Father Muhosha was treated with kid-gloves on social media.

He said the case would have made headlines on social media if it involved some churches in the country i.e his church.

“This is Bishop Muhosha, a senior Catholic priest who was killing people with albinism. In 2018, after baptising your kids in the morning, he gruesomely killed Masambuka at night. Kalistiya mumalandila kuchokera manja amagazi.

“Had it been he belonged to our church, alot of theories could follow. You have been unfair with us for long. We serve the living God and you should not tarnish our name to just explain away a mystery,” wrote Kalawe.

Kalawe’s post has attracted anger from the general public with Catholic congregants showering insults on him.

One of the concerned members identified as Andrew Kasiya wrote: “Mr Kalawe, whatever issues you have with the Catholic Church, please state them plainly. It just shows you are an attention seeker and you just want to provoke the attention of Catholics.

“Any well versed will know that the late Muhosha, was not a bishop… unfortunately, that exposes the level of ur ignorance. That being said, it means any sane Catholic can’t have a meaningful argument with you. May the Holy Spirit enlighten ur ignorant mind and lead you to the truth….”

Concuring with Kasiya’s remarks Wongani Chirembo wrote: “As a public figure, I strongly believe you have many followers belonging to different religious groups , it is with sadness that you would start condemning people because of the acts of a certain individual
Killers are out there in different Churches, Schools , institutions and what have you, blaming an entire congregation for the acts of one fellow is very unfair and not so good coming from someone who is supposed to influence others.

“I’m not catholic but I find this write up somehow provocative to many.”

Winner Chawinga also wrote: “Just know that no single Catholic faithful will leave the Church because of your hate post! The Catholic Church is not a temporary club like your so called newly found church!”

On his part Denis Zalira wrote: “Don’t start something you can’t finish bro. Build your relationship with God Almighty, focus on your future, spend more time with God your heart will be healed.”

Reverend Father Muhosha was among 12 people who were convicted by the High Court for having hand in Masambuka’s death.

Father Muhosha died last week at Zomba Central Hospital.
