Human rights advocates have sworn to hold the Tonse Alliance government led by President Lazarus Chakwera accountable if any unfortunates happen to ensue to Executive Director of the Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), Sylvester Namiwa.

Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC) CHAIRPERSON Robert Mkwezalamba said it is the obligation of the state to investigate the matter and feed Malawians with sensible and comprehensible narrations on the matter.

“The state has an obligation to investigate and tell Malawians the truth on who is behind the abduction,” said Mkwezalamba.

CDEDI Communications Officer Edwin Mauluka said the location of their leader remains unknown.

Meanwhile, the Malawi Police Service (MPS) said they have received an official complain form the grouping and their men are on the ground looking into the matter.

At the same time, President Lazarus Chakwera has asked the police to speed up the investigations and bring anyone involved to book.
