The Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) led demonstrators have peacefully marched and delivered a petition to the District Commissioner for Balaka, Darwin Mngoli.

They were protesting against selective justice, the rising high cost of living and for President Lazarus Chakwera to trim his presidential powers.

Meanwhile, police have fired teargas to disperse a group that diverted from the initial route.
