Veteran Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Research in the Eastern Region Madalitso Mwachande and National Executive Committee Member Anthony Lwanda have resigned from the party with immediate effect.
The two have since joined the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Speaking after welcoming the two, DPP Eastern Region Governor Imran Mtenje said this shows that DPP is strong though they are on the opposition bench.
The development comes barely a day after some top officials from DPP led by Brown Mpinganjira joined MCP.
Mpinganjira was welcomed in MCP fold yesterday.
