The Kasungu magistrate court has discharged Sub- Traditional Authority Chaima of Kasungu who was accused of impregnating his niece , after a DNA results mismatched with the child the victim claimed he fathered.

Senior State Advocate Grace Wasiri from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions has confirmed today that the DPP office facilitated the DNA test on the child and the suspect as part of its evidence but it turned out to be negative.

Counsel representing the accused, Geoffrey Kaombe of Clarks Attorneys say they are happy that his client has finally being freed.

Kasungu police arrested Sub-TA Chaima, whose real name is RodricK Mwale, last year on suspicion that he defiled and impregnated his 15-year-old niece.
