At least 30 people have been arrested in Balaka following their violent acts and looting last evening even after peaceful demonstrations pushing for removal of presidential immunity earlier.
Balaka Station Officer-In-Charge Dan Saulten has confirmed the development; saying they have charged 15 with inciting violence, 14 robbery whilst one with assault.
The suspects are expected to appear before court soon to answer the charges.
Other protesters went on rampage as late as 9PM, looting shops and destroying property.
