Mzuzu demonstrations against rising costs of living underway

Protesters led by Young Human Rights Defenders Network have started marching from Katoto ground in Mzuzu.
The protesters are against rising costs of living under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s government.
A visit to Katoto ground, faceofmalawi reporter found some youths and heavily armed police officers and Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldiers on the site.
The protesters are expected to deliver their petition to Mzimba North Mmbelwa District Council offices.
So far protesters are marching peacefully.
