UK-based Malawian comedian Daliso Chaponda arrived in the country on Wednesday ahead of his performance at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre on Sunday.

Addressing members of the press upon his arrival, Chaponda said he is happy to be back in a country where his heart is.

“Britain is where I live and where I make my money. But Malawi is where my heart is. I am happy to be here,” he said.

The comedian is expected to star alongside another globally renowned artist Yusuf Imran on Sunday when Amaryllis Hotel is expected to unveil its stand-up comedy series.

Chaponda said with all the developments happening across the globe, it is a good time for comedians and he is more than ready to unleash all that on Malawians.

Amaryllis Hotel general manager Ramy Waheed said they have tried to make the show affordable so that everyone can access the comedy feast.
