The Supreme court of Kenya has finally received its first official appeal that is seeking to overturn United democratic alliance party leader William Ruto‘s declaration as president elect of the republic of Kenya.

In an appeal that was received and stamped by the Judiciary at the Milimani law court registry where the supreme Court’s sub registry is based, Alfred Juma claims that the just concluded presidential election was not free and fair.

He wants the supreme court to invalidate the elections and order a fresh election even as he criticized independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati for the way he conducted the polls.

“I write to express the unsatisfactory nature of this year’s General Election results for Presidential candidate, which were announced by the independent electoral and boundaries commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati on August 15, 2022. I petition for the re-election of the presidential candidates,” he stated.

However, the officials directed him to engage an advocate to help him advance his case and urged him to file a petition instead of the two paragraph letter that he had presented.
