Well-known hip-hop star Fredokis, real name Penjani Kalua has organized peaceful demonstrations to push for the release of John Mussa who is serving a 8 year jail sentence at Chichiri Prison in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Mussa was arrested in June this after allegedly being found with 78 plastic bags of Indian Hemp. He was sentenced to eight years in prison a few days later.

His mother revealed in an interview that Mussa was only found at a house where the drugs were being kept but the illegal drugs did not belong to him.

The revelation forced some Malawians to push for his release citing that the sentence was too much for him.

But since then nothing tangible is happening on the ground, forcing Fredokiss and some concerned Malawians to organized peaceful parade.

Fredokiss has confirmed of the development but could not disclose the exact date.

“We are Planning a Youth Parade. A Solidarity walk to display our stand against Selective Justice. This one is for John Mussa. Details will be shared soon. Lest Walk the talk and Make a Generational Statement,” wrote Fredokiss.

On her part, right activists Hellen Chabunya has promised to join the protest.

“I will fully participate in the Solidarity Walk for John Mussa. The justice system in Malawi is broken. Our generation will not stand for this unfairness any longer. #JusticeForJohnMussa all details will be shared in due course. Tell a friend to tell a friend!!! Fredokiss we are ready!,” said Chabunya.
