The Malawi Defense Force (MDF) has been commended for introducing a policy which allows its female solders to be wearing a hijab at work.
According to Muslim Chaplain at MDF, Sheikh Major Saad Khamis Malovu, there have been some policy changes at the government security agency to align with Muslims beliefs, among other’s the wearing of hijab.
Speaking to Muslim Media Agency, Sheikh Malovu said Muslim soldiers will be able to carry out their duties while wearing Hijab, a head covering for Muslim women, in accordance with Islam.
“Sheikh Malovu said it is a welcome development to see female Muslim soldiers doing their work while keeping their faith intact,” the agency reported.
