Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba has come out of her cocoon to comment on the fracas which happened at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe where some Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters attacked her.

It is said that the supporters were angry over her directive that MCP members should stop attending State functions.

According to information at hand, on the material day the MCP supporters were blocked from entering the BICC Auditorium where President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera was attending the Malawi Assemblies of God Leadership Conference.

Speaking in an interview with the press Zamba said she is not afraid of what happened at BICC and she vowed to continue discharging her duties.

“Even if I had said that, I think there should still be respect because it’s an [SPC] office. So, we wouldn’t entertain that people should not respect the authority and be unruly.

“I really don’t entertain those kinds of things and they cannot threaten me at all. I am focused and I don’t get distracted by such things,” said Zamba.

She also denied blocking MCP supporters from attending state functions as reported on the social media.
