Hakainde Hichilema shocked with death of ex-army commander Nobby Simbeye

Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed shock over the death of former Army Commander, Lt. General Nobby Simbeye (RTD).

Simbeye died on Sunday after a short illness.

“It is with a deep sense of sorrow and sadness that we received the news of the death of former Zambia Army Commander, Lt. General Nobby Simbeye (RTD).

“Late Gen. Simbeye served his country with distinction, honour and loyalty and continued to be a source of wisdom and inspiration in retirement as he was in service,” wrote Hakainde Hichilema.

He added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May His Soul Rest In Peace.”
