Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has announced a prolonged load shedding on Sunday “due to inadequate power supply”.
“All residential customers will be subjected to an average of 14 hours load shedding,” reads part of a statement which the utility company has released on Wednesday.
Another utility body, Blantyre Water Board says, it is facing water pumping interruption at Mudi Water Treatment Plant and Chichiri Pumping Station “due to a fault”.
The Board says in its communication to users that this has, therefore, caused no-water situation in 13 areas such as Kanjedza, Bangwe, Nguludi, Chigumula and Catholic University.
