Leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa on Thursday cheered up former Chief Press Officer to former President Peter Mutharika, Justice Mponda who was involved in road accident last week in the capital Lilongwe.
The accident occurred a few minutes after Mponda left his residence in Area 17 in Lilongwe to drop his son at school.
They both sustained minor injuries.
However, the car was extensively damaged.
Nankhumwa said he learnt with shock about the accident.
But he thanked God for saving the lives of the veteran journalist who is also founder of the Malawi Voice, a pro-DPP online publication.
On his part, Mponda thanked Nankhumwa for the visits.
