Mussa John’s mother broke into tears after the high court ruling that sent him back to Chichiri prison to serve a three-year-jail term for being found with cannabis.

One of his lawyers, Chikondi Chijozi, said they will appeal the ruling which has slashed the initial jail term from eight years to three.

Young sympathisers including hip-hop artist, Fredokiss, and Bright Chiligo of Mikozi were at the court in solidarity with Mussah.

On his part Fredokiss who is championing the release of Mussa said the scheduled September 15 protests aimed at pleading with authorities to free Mussa John will proceed as planned.

The rapper has expressed disappointment with a verdict which was passed by the High Court on Thursday afternoon.

Fredokiss said the youth will march from Nyambadwe ground to upper stadium where a petition will be delivered.
