Zomba City is experiencing dry wells of diesel as the commodity’s scarcity has hit most of the fuel pumps in the old Capital.

It is reported that the commodity went out of stock at around noon yesterday.

Motorist, Luciano John fears the situation may result into the rising cost of fares since most of the motorists are buying the commodity at black markets, which is at a higher side.

Scarcity of the commodity is being reported in Lilongwe and Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority Spokesperson Fitina Khonje yesterday maintained that what the country is experiencing is just a temporary challenge.

Last week, MERA attributed the scarcity of fuel to show organized in Lilongwe where Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel performed.

Now it is not known as to who will MERA attribute the scarcity.
