Man arrested after being caught BWB Water Meters in Chilomoni

Chilomoni Police are keeping in custody a 28 year old Kumbukani Moses for being found in possession of 8 BWB post paid meters and assorted pipe fittings which he was carrying in a sack.
The suspect was apprehended by Chilomoni Community Policing group during patrols on Sunday night 11th September 2022.
When the suspect saw that the community policing members were going towards his direction, he started running away and in the process dropped the sack containing the BWB materials. The security team picked the bag and pursued him until he was caught.
Interrogations are still underway and the suspect will be taken to court for justice to be served.
BWB Executive Management applauds the Chilomoni Community Policing group for the commendable job they have done.
Blantyre Water Board in July 2022 carried out community sensitisation meetings with various stakeholders including Chilomoni Police and its community leaders. This is one of the outcomes of the signed agreement with Malawi Police who coordinate community policing groups.
