President Uhuru Kenyatta and the incoming President in waiting William Ruto have today in the evening met at Statehouse, Nairobi. The two leaders had a brief meeting before the incumbent head of state issued his last National Address as the head of state.

Ruto will be sworn in tomorrow, 13th September 2022 where his tenure will officially begin and at the same time ending the Kenyatta tenure.

Few procedures and protocols will be observed tomorrow with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) presiding over the event.

Among unique events that will be experienced tomorrow include the handing over of the sword from Uhuru to Ruto. The sword is the ultimate tool that shows power.

In addition, Uhuru’s presidential flag will be lowered and Ruto’s presidential flag will rise. By this evening, Kenyans have been given a sneek peak of Ruto’s presidential flag.

The flags theme is green with the symbols of the national unity in the content. In addition, a unique feature, the wheelbarrow in Yellow is also on the flag.

Ruto during campaigns used the wheelbarrow to show that his leadership will be inclusive of all including the low living Kenyans.
