Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) has reduced petrol prices by K200 effective today.
This means petrol will be selling at K1746 per litre, down from K1946 per litre.
However, diesel and paraffin have been maintained at K1920 per litre and K1261 per litre respectively.
Mera board chairperson Reckford Kampanje in a statement made available to the press said petrol, under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) qualified for downward price adjustment while diesel and paraffin did not qualify for any price change hence maintained at the current prices.
