Lilongwe Police Station, on Friday morning, September 16, 2022 recovered stolen electronic property worth over seven million kwacha and arrested three suspects in the process.
The suspects, who have been identified as Wilson Jenala, 37, of Mbela Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalulu, Mangochi, Jafali Yuda, 37, Chipole Village, T/A Kawinga, Machinga, and the third principal suspect (name withheld) were arrested in Mtandire and Mtsiliza townships.
Lilongwe Police detectives, through intelligence gathering found out that the unidentified principal suspect, and his accomplices who are at large now, have been selling property suspected to have been stolen to the two identified suspects, Jenala, Yuda and others.
In the wee hours of Friday, the station’s detectives invaded the two townships and managed to recover the said electronic items such plasma screens, laptops, cellphones, and other gadgets from three houses.
The suspects will appear in court soon to answer robbery charges.
Meanwhile, Lilongwe Police is asking people who lost electronics through robbery to visit the station for identification of the same.
