Court dismisses Mphwiyo’s application

Supreme Court Judge Justice Lovemore Chikopa has dismissed an application by Cashgate suspect Paul Mphwiyo and 18 others to nullify the 2.4 billion cash gate case.
The suspects filed the application on grounds that the case has overstayed and the mandate by the then presiding Judge Esme Chombo had expired.
Mphwiyo and others are accused of money laundering.
His shooting 8 years ago led to the revelations of plunder of public funds dubbed Cashgate under the reign of former President Dr. Joyce Banda.
