1. Samia Suluhu
Samia Suluhu Hassan is a Tanzanian politician who is serving as the sixth and current President of Tanzania. Samia is the first female president of Tanzania. She took office on 19 March 2021 after the death of President John Magufuli on 17 March 2021. This is According to Tanzania’s constitution, that a vice president should be sworn in as the new president within 24 hours following the demise of the current president and should serve the remainder five-year term.
Samia is ruling Tanzania under the social-democrat Chama Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) party.
Apart from being the president of Tanzania,Suluhu is the third female head of government of an East Africa Community (EAC) country, after Sylvie Kinigi in Burundi and Agathe Uwilingiyimana in Rwanda.
2. Sahle-Work Zewde
Sahle-Work Zewde is the first elected female President of Ethiopia and currently the only female out of the 54 Presidents in Africa. She took office on October 25, 2018 after being unanimously elected by members of the National Parliamentary Assembly. Prior to her election as President, she worked as Special Representative of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union.
