A section of the Ugandan Military is lauding President Yoweri Museveni for not flying to the UK to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II after seeing other African Presidents and Prime Ministers who attended the ceremony riding on buses.

The officers led by their Defence Spokesperson have lauded Museveni for staying in Uganda as other African leaders went to the UK to mourn Elizabeth II.

The Defence Spokesperson questioned how African leaders ended up attending the event yet they are the same people who have been condemning imperialism and the alleged mistreatment of African people in Europe

Taking to social media while reacting to a tweet by a military officer, the Defence Spokesperson wondered how the African leaders decided to go to London to attend the funeral after all the complaints they have been raising for years

“But in honesty, many African leaders have condemned Imperialism and the dehumanising treatment our African people are subjected to in Europe. So why go!!!!’ he reacted.

Those who lauded President Museveni said he escaped the humiliation the embarrassment that those who attended the funeral alleged endured.

“I have always said it and I will reaffirm it there is nothing good for Africa, but humiliation, embarrassment, and utter disdain. If this event was not an example, I don’t know what will ever be. I salute and respect my CIC GenĀ @KagutaMuseveni, thank you for staying away!” said one Uganda officer, who caught the attention of the Defence Spokesperson.
