A man Hun has started in Lilongwe for a 17-year-old boy on suspicion he murdered his father, who was a minibus driver.

The incident happened on Saturday night at Chinsapo 1 at about 7:00 o’clock.

Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin, Deputy PRO, Lilongwe Police Station said the deceased has been identified as Divala Chitsonga, aged 33.

Benjamin explained, at the time, the boy demanded money from his father, saying he wanted to enjoy life, and he was outright rejected.

He  turned aggressive, and ended up being slapped by the father.

Shortly after, the son hit his father in the head with a big stick as he was getting into the minibus for business.

Immediately, the father lost consciousness and was rushed to Kamuzu Central Hospital.

He died while receiving treatment.

Postmortem examination indicated that the death was due to direct impact of severe traumatic brain injury and cerebral bleeding.

When found, the teenager will answer a charge of murder.

Chitsonga came from Matewe Village Traditional Authority Mulumbe in Zomba District.
