One of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Governing Council (NGC) members, Ken Msonda has blasted organizers of this year’s Mulhakho wa Lhomwe festival for not inviting President Lazarus Chakwera.

Msonda said Mulhakho wa Lhomwe is a cultural grouping hence President Chakwera was supposed to be part of the ceremony in his capacity as Malawi leader.

“The organizers of the event have made a big mistake for not inviting President Lazarus Chakwera because he is a president of this country,” said Msonda.

He has advised speakers during the occasion not to use the event to make castigatory speeches against other individuals.

Pius Mvenya, Mulhakho wa Lhomwe Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said the organization has not invited Chakwera to cut costs.

The guest of honor at the event is former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of DPP and patron of the Cultural grouping.
