Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) first year students have asked fellow students to at the college to stop harassing them at the campus.
The call follows continuous report of hash treatment first years students receive from fellow students at the college.
“There is growing concern on the trend of first years being shouted at as ‘Yearo’ and other forms of insults on campus and on different fora. This is a prestigious University where ‘integrity’ reigns as one of its ‘Core Values”. We are dignified University. Harassment is not and should not be part of its language,” reads part of the statement.
“This form of abuse, bullying and harassment which must stop forthwith,” added the statement.
