Beverly Osu, Nigerian actress and model, has stated that she is not emotionally strong enough to be a mother.
According to Beverly Osu, she would prefer a family union in which she would love her partner and then bear children.
The actress, who insisted she loves to love and is open to a relationship that could lead to marriage, chastised the younger generation for playing with people’s feelings.
Beverly Osu said on Vanguard’s online TV show, “Lunch Date with Vanguard,” that she feared having a child out of wedlock and would rather enjoy motherhood as a happily married woman.
“If dem come marry me, I go go naw,” she said when asked about marriage. To be honest, I used to fantasize about weddings. I used to see my wedding gown, but now I don’t see anything. I just want to live and pray to God that I don’t have children out of wedlock because I want to be part of a family.
A unit. I always tell my friends and family that I am not emotionally strong enough to be a mother. I can’t do it all on my own. I know I have a strong support system; I have friends and family who will be there for me.
But I’m not capable of doing so. If this occurs, the child will be in the custody of his father. I know they say that once you have a child, you know better, but if that happens, the child will be with his or her father. That is why I want to do everything I can to get married the right way. And I’m a sucker for love. I want to be obsessed with my family and my partner. We both give birth and raise the child.
Beverly Osu went on to say, “This generation is making love look so difficult with cheating here and there.” Cheating has become the norm these days. I simply cannot. Maybe it’s because I’m old-fashioned, but I can’t. I just want to be loved and to have a companion. But I am currently single.
I believe this is the longest I have been single. I am also open to love. I’m going to expose the next man I date on social media so I know the outcome of the relationship as soon as possible. You never know if he’s dating more than five girls in Lagos.”
