17 Officials from Accountant General’s Office Denied Bail

Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Khoswe Chimwaza has reserved to tomorrow Thursday, her ruling on bail application by the 17 Accountants, who were arrested yesterday.
Defense on Wednesday applied for bail requesting their release saying the suspects cannot interfere with investigations but the State appealed to the court to remand the suspects to Maula Prison for 14 days for them to conclude investigations.
CRM Chimwaza has since reserved her ruling on the bail application to tomorrow Thursday.
The arrest of the 17 Accountants, has brought the total number of public officers arrested in connection with alleged fraud at the Accountant General’s office to 40.
