Twenty contestants for this year’s Miss Malawi beauty pageant on are going through a three-day early childhood development (ECD) training at Nyasa International Academy in Blantyre, which started on Wednesday 12, 2022.
Business organizing officer for the pageant Clara Saeluzika said the training is in line with the theme which concern more on early childhood development and it is an opportunity to test intelligence of the ones participating.
Apart from beauty, we want to see what they will bring to the table, we want to see how their minds work, how they think. We are generally observing how sharp they are,” she said.
Founder and managing director for the school Rubina Hajat said they are excited to work with the contestants and make a difference to the ones who will one day take a turn and educate the whole Malawi about the importance of early childhood development.
One of the contestants Grace Mazinga said the lessons they will get would leave a lasting impact on how they approach and apply themselves to issues of early childhood development.
