Joshua Chisa Mbele, one of the lead organizers of Citizens Against Impunity and Corruption mass demonstrations has invited Minister of National unity and Civic Education Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo to participate the protests.

The “Mass demonstrations for emergency situation” are scheduled to take place on October 27th and the State House is the destination, according to Chisa Mbele.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Chisa Mbele said as “embracing unity of purpose” as preached by the minister responsible, his presence will be highly appreciated.

“Embracing Unity of Purpose of Hon Minister Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo, Malawians from walks of life regardless of the political affiliations are United and Encouraged to participate,” said Chisa Mbele.

Mtambo is well known for the role he played in topping out of power the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) when he was an active human rights advocate under Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC).

Mtambo led a series of demonstrations against the former president Peter Mutharika before joining active politics and forming his non-existent political movement.

Whether Mtambo will honor the invitation or not, is unknown.
